Glossary

PBA: Bred from white Angoras crossed with Pygmy goats, they invented the "Pygora" term.
PCA: Bred from colored Angoras crossed with Pygmy goats, look pretty much like PBA goats.
CAGBA: Colored Angora Goat Breeders Association.
Fiber: This can be anything from raw fleece to yarn.
Fleece: The fiber straight off the goat, may be scoured or skirted (see below).
Raw Fleece: Straight off the animal, unwashed and usually not skirted.
Scoured: This just means the fleece has been washed.
Skirted: The VM has been picked from the fiber or fleece. This is a subjective term since a fleece can be lightly skirted or heavily skirted. It all depends on how clean the fleece was to start with.
VM: Vegetative matter: This is the junk that gets caught up in the fleece of fiber animals. Usually hay, leaves or other plant matter. We all try to keep our fleeces clean but the animals just don't cooperate at times.
Recessive black/dominant black etc.: The best answer to this is at the CAGBA website under color genetics. It can get complicated in goats. Not a one liner for a webpage.
